Thanks to the internet, our contacts with distant cousins have expanded and provided enough new material to justify expanding the concept of a "family web site" and has brought about some revision, most recently to the paternal linage from the eastern regions of France and Switzerland. By visiting the Alsatian Connection web site, you can preview and entire list of surnames, descendent and ancestral, connected to my family. For those of you of known Baverian ancestry, the bavarian web site is yet to be revised but has all the information you need to determine if we may be related through those lines. After you have visited that area, if you are a member of the family and would like to join a family mailing list. Please send email to the mailing list coordinator (click) and describe your connection. You will be manually subscribed if you are connected. If the connection is likely but unestablished, we'll put you on another list and work on establishing the connection if possible. The mailing list is in the process of revision, so please be patient.
There are two family mailing lists for any near or distant relations descended through either the Meyer or Bihler ancestral lines. If you share in any of the know surnames above and are reasonably certain of a link in our ascending or descending family lines because of a congruent point in place and/or time, then your are eligible to join the appropriate mailing list. The purpose for each mailing list is to share family history and information. The list may have the added benefit to foster friendship among kinfolk in a world which has seen the concept of kin & family diminished to the most elemental components. We expect that most of our "cousins" from the "Bihler" line will still be in Germany; but there are some relations descended from siblings of our ancestors who emmigrated to the USA earlier.
